Vampire Woman Ravens Image

Vampire Woman and Ravens

I just thought this was a fantastic image, which presumably is of a vampire woman with ravens landing on or flying around her.

The clouds, the light, and of course the woman and the ravens really work great together. I really enjoyed this image and thought you would like it too.

Rudolf Tattooing Grimacing Santa Claus

Bizarre Art

This image of Santa grimacing while being tattooed by the sadistic Rudoph is too funny. And how about that skull bandana Rudolph is wearing? Very cool.

As for Santa, it doesn't seem he is built for too much tolerance for pain, as he looks like he's either being a big baby about it or Rudolph is doing a little more to him then we know. Bad Rudolph!

One thing going for this Santa though is those huge muscles. Maybe that's from all those rides in the sleigh holding the reins through the centuries.

Halloween Carved Pumpkin | Deathstar

Halloween Carved Pumpkins

Here's a very cool carved pumpkin of the Deathstar from Star Wars. You look at it and wonder how someone can make something like this with a pumpkin.

The secret is the light areas are cut all the way through, the dark areas left alone, and the reddish areas are shaved or peeled to certain levels which give it a shaded look.

But this carved Halloween pumpkin definitely took a lot of work and commitment.

Bizarre Art | 3D Pop-out Woman

Bizarre Art

This work of art from Scot Davidson is extraordinary, and the idea of sketching a woman coming out of his sketchpad is terrific.

You're not sure if it's meant to mimic a pop-out style work or to show how a drawing or sketch can be made to come to life.

Either way, I really like how he did it, and it is really a one of a kind type of artwork that while being strange and bizarre, is also compelling and fascinating.

Really nice piece of 3D-looking art work.

Anti Rockstar Painting

Bizarre Art

I won't give you the specifics, but if you know the details behind this painting lamblasting this particular rock star, let us know in the comments section.

A lot of people may not know about this situation, but the painter pictured here depicted this star in this way because of what he did to him. Let your fellow readers know what it was.

Bizarre Human Facial Art

Bizarre Art

This bizarre facial art from Kari Altmann dubbed 'Dreamcaptchas,' makes you wonder what it is that Kari Altmann dreams about.

what the line does is take a face and distorts, contorts and twists it into all sorts of strange, bizarre and odd art.

It takes a human face and places things like the eyes and mouth into positions they aren't supposed to be. There is also a blurred part of the art included with the heads which add some type of mystical quality to it.

Bizarre Art - Taxidermy Horrors

Bizarre Art
Talk about strange and weird, take a look at these odd taxidermy creations depicting something unknown except to the designer.

They really had a creative side, and the simple and effective additions to the original bodies of the animals and fish sure make an interesting image.

Even though it's not as weird as the fish one, I do like the bottom taxidermy photo the best.

For some reason it just seems to remind you of a cliche, even with the different head.

Fantasy Art | Fantasy Castles

Fantasy Art Castles

You can view a ton of unique art themes and designs at Deviant ART, and a very cool one they have is with fantasy castles imagined by the artists.

I included a couple here for you to enjoy, and you can see a lot more at the web site.

Just enter 'fantasy castles' into the search form and you'll get a bunch of cool results from the site.

Some of the castles are high on a mountain top while others are floating in the air. One is even used as a background for a rider on a horse.

Either way these definitely catch the essence and mystery of castles, and give an auro of fantasy that surrounds them.

Freya Lingerie's Bowling Alley Photos

Bizarre Fashion Photos

This is a little weird but fun, as the pin-up look of women in lingerie at a retro-looking setting of a bowling alley is pretty cool.

Called the "Let 'em Roll' campaign, the models are featured against backgrounds of bowling shoes, lanes and 40s signage.

They also wear the look from that era with the retro hair styles, makeup and dark lighting we asssociate with the times.

Now about this bottom photo, is that a strike or a score?

Gothic Environment | 'Batman: Arkham Asylum?'

Bizarre Art Trends

I really like the greenish/yellow colors incorporated into the latest action adventure for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 'Batman: Arkham Asylum?.' If the environment reflects the gaming experience, it will be a good one.

The look hast that gothic feel with iron gates and overgrown shrubs in a dreary but compelling backdrop, which oozes potential. And that moon in the background, How cool is that?

Now the character depicting Batman wasn't as interesting to me, as he had the usual square jawed look you'd expect, and didn't really resonate much. But that will be seen whether it's a negative or positive in the overall game.

Even so, the moonlit lighting and gothic environment gives the type of creepy and interesting look a gamer is looking for, and if it's an indication of the game, it could be good news for us.

Bizarre Art | Macabre Children's Stories

Bizarre Art

I've got to admit, these are some of the more interesting and strange twists on children's stories I've ever seen.

Some people have talked about how creepy they were, but I like Goldilocks eating the three bears and Little Red Riding Hood turning the tables on the big bad wolf by eating him.

Ok. Little Red Riding Hood eating her grandma is admittedly a little too much, but the rest were pretty cool.

You can go here to see a bunch more by the artist.

Bizarre Art from Anti Design

Bizarre Art Design

Sweden-based design company Anti has just released a dark collection of photos, which include a dark look at what seems a widow in mourning, and also many stunning photos to enjoy.

Anti has worked with a number of large corporations and their campaigns in the past, and I like the direction this is going, as it seems they're auditioning for new business and stirring up ideas for their old clients.

Either way, it's visually impressive, and definitely explores the dark side of life.

Mike Mignola Drawing Hellboy Comics

Comic Art Trends

After a hiatus from drawing the Hellboy comis series he created, Mike Mignola said in a recent interview that he will return to draw the comic series again sometime in 2010.

He left the artwork side to concentrate on writing new stories unconnected to the series.

It also sounds like Mignola may start to bring the series to an end, hinting taking it in a darker and unsuspected direction, which will end in the finale of the story. Pretty interesting to fans of Mignola and the series.

As far as the artwork, the unique angular style fans of Mignola have always like will be a breath of fresh air again, and will heighten the anticipation of where things will end up.

Yann Travaille's Unique Tattoo Designs

Tattoos

New tattoo designs from Yann Travaille has your body used more as a doodle pad than a work of art, as his style resembles a child taking his pencil or crayons and applying is limited craft on your body.

What's interesting about this, is in many cases it works, and will probably earn Yann Travaille his place in the difficult-to-break-into tattoo design artist field, which has become very cluttered.

What's interesting about Travaille is he bodly throws away most of the tattoo traditions, and has completely developed his own style. It think this is going to earn him accolades, but inspire people to have fun and truly enjoy a one of a kind tattoo on their body.

He also has a aptly named website dubbed "Your Meat is Mine," where you can check out a bunch of his work.

The only caveat is he does his work in Montreal, so you'd have to go there if his style appeals to you. Either way, it's a fun and interesting new design style that will find a place in the crowded tattoo design market.

Maybe we could call his style doodle-toos!

Bizarre Art - Eugenio Merin's Dark Collection

Bizarre Art

A lot of people were weirded out by the latest collection of Eugenio Merin which includes lots of twisted sculptures to satisfy even the darkest tastes.

For example, you've got the Dalai Lama toting a machine gun, and Fidel Castro looking like a zombie. You've even got Krusty the clown committing suicide in these works. Osama bin Laden doing a disco dance is the scariest. Hehe.

Anyway, check em' out and see what you think.

Great Fantasy Art of Woman Sitting On Skull with Huge Vampire Bat Behind Her

Vampire Bat

I love this type of fantasy art, and it's very unusal in that I haven't seen one quite like this before.

The gorgeous woman sitting on a skull with a vampire bat behind her is just too cool. But more than that, it's very well done.

A lot of people enjoy the mystique of the bat, and the vampire bat in particular, because there's no other genus; it's a one of a kind among bats.

The fact that vampire bats do at times suck the blood of humans makes it even more interesting.

How do you like this vampire art? In its fantasy art setting, I really appreciate the quality and the feel of it.

Bizarre Art | Now You Really Don't Want To Go To The Dentist

Bizarre Art

Creating photos that shock is of course a way of life for many people, and in this funny photo, we can see the caricature of how many people feel deep down about going to the dentist.

That's one thing about those that make these types of photos; sometimes their work borders on the meaningless, and says nothing, others, like this one, in a funny and exaggerated way, makes us laugh because it's connected to a reality all of us have felt one time or another.

I appreciate this type of art form more than that create primarily to only disgust.

Bizarre Art Trends | "Untitled Hardcore Zombie Project" from Bruce LaBruce

Bizarre Art Trends

When I found this my immediate reaction was: whaaaat? At first I thought it was really going to be edgy, because of the crazy photo you see with Tony Ward (Madonna's former something) putting the gun to his temple.

But after going through a number of the photos, there's just too much blood for me. Not in the squeamish way, but just in a way that makes it too unreal, fake, and boring; it takes over the photos, and you lose the models and mostly irrelevant posing.

The best picture is the one I mentioned. The rest don't do much for me.

I suppose there's supposed to be a shock factor here, but to me it doesn't happen.

This production is by porn/horror producer Bruce LaBruce, and is running at the LA Peres Project until June 27.

Tattoo Women | Kat Von D Retains Beauty While Showing Off Tattoos

Tattoo Women

Kat Von D is one of the most well known women sporting tattoos in the world, and she definitely has a lot of them, as her body is inked from top to bottom.

There are so many on her, that it is distracting to me, but she is one of the few women I've seen that can still retain her beauty, without the tattoos completely getting in the way and who she is being lost in the art.

It seems they belong to one another (the tattoos and Kat Von D), and are one with each other. Not too many people give off that vibe, but Von D definitely does.

So even with her extreme and weird tattoos, she is able to maintain her beauty, without being lost as simply a canvass presenting ink, while losing the canvass.

The magic of Kat Von D is she can do both; something not very common among those enamored with ink.

Why go through pain when getting your tattoo? Go here to get relief!
