Tattoos of Michael Jackson have been appearing online, and some of them are in honor of him, and others aren't.

Like everything with Michael Jackson, the tattoos bearing him image are contradictions.

You have the usual images of Jackson at different stages of his life and career, but also tattoos of the dark side of him; specifically the pedophile related themes.

But the tattoo I included of Jackson showing him molesting a child is wrong to me. Not because it is expressing something that could have been a evil side of Jackson, but because of inking it on your arm in the first place.

Who puts an image of a pedophile on their arm in the act of performing their dark deed? That's just wrong.

Tiger tattoos are a challenge to have made because the form of the tiger isn't as fluid and flexible as other tattoo figures and themes.

I prefer the black and darker colors for tiger tattoos, as it brings out something in a way that the usual orange and reds just don't do.

This tigger tattoo on this man's back is on of the best I've seen. It's hard to surround tigers with extras because in most cases it just doesn't work well.

In this one though I think it's captured almost perfectly. You have the desirable tiger teeth and fierce eyes looking out of the jungle, while the moon and trees are seen in the background.

Personally, it's one of the, if not the, best tiger tattoo I've seen.

I really liked this Chinese dragon tattoo, specifically the black lines and ink, which I prefer in most tattoos.

Dragon tattoos are probably the most popular at this time, because of the versatility of the dragon theme, works very well with both men and women, with the lines, patterns and tattoo designs fit both body types well.

This doesn's mean I don't like the very colorful dragon tattoos, just that those like the one in the photo seem to rock way better.

There are a number of concerns people have when either deciding to have their first tattoo, or whether to add more ink to their bodies. One of those major concerns is the pain associated with the procedure.

While a lot of men and women try to make it look like enduring the pain is part of the process, that's not really too smart when you think of it.

Oh yeah, you know why many people get tattooed in that way? They're either drunk or high, and with their sense dulled, make the arbitrary decision they're going to get a tattoo.

Any respectable tattoo shop or artist shouldn't do the work when someone is that state, but unfortunately, many still do. Imagine waking up to your body having tattoos you don't even remember having done, or vaguely remember a little of it?

Back to the tattoo pain subject. The point is why go through pain when you don't have to?

With the growing popularity of tattooing, many first timers are hesitant to take the plunge because of the many stories connected to getting inked; like the pain, mistakes, dangers, health concerns, what if you don't like it, etc.

One thing I've recommended to people is first of all to go the temporary tattoo route.

The reason why is the first thing you want to know before you ever get a tattoo is whether you want to wear one or not. How can you ever know without trying it on for size?

You could of course look at friends, acquaintances, or just through others with photos to get an idea. But when it comes down to it, being tattooed is very personal, and only you can decide whether it's right for you and gives you the look, feel and experience you were hoping for.

What is valuable about being temporarily tattooed is you can experiment with a lot of different types and looks, while putting them on different parts of your body over time. This would not only let you see how it would feel to have one permanently on your body, but see the placement you like the best, and how people respond to you.

Don't underestimate the response factor, that is definitely part of the overall experience of being tattooed, and must be taken into account when making a final decision.

Another thing you could do is try temporary tattoos on different parts of your body at the same time to see if they mesh, or if you like multiple tattoos. Some like it and some don't, and it's definitely not for everybody.

Some people even like to live a lifestyle of being temporarily tattooed, as it gives all sorts of options, like not even having one at certain events or circumstance, or being playful and overdoing it to get a reaction from friends, family and colleagues.

Either way, you can have one style tattoo on one part of your body and change it around the next time you need or want to say or show someone in a certain social situation.

So if you're thinking of going the tattoo route but aren't completely sure or want to give it a test run, temporary tattoos are definitely the way to go to see if it's something you want to do permanently.

Or you may just discover it's a lot of fun having different looks at different times, and so embrace a temporary tattoo lifestyle.

One other thing, temporary tattoos can also be used to work with existing permanent tattoos for those who don't want too much ink on their body for different reasons.

So you could use some to enhance what you have, or to just add a little more for a short time to give yourself a specific look.

Whatever your reasoning, temporary tattoos are definitely an important part of the overall industry, and you can use them in a number of circumstances and purposes without the concerns or challenges that must be faced when making permanent tattoo decisions.

When Julia Gnuse knew she could look like a monstrosity after a skin disease devastated her body into a bunch of boils and scars, she decided to take matters into her own hands and have her entire body tattooed.

Julia Gnuse was born with a disease named porphyria, in which blistering boils would emerge as a result of contact with sunlight. Those blisters produce scars, which of course can deform the body and face in unfortunate ways.

As a result of her tattooing, Gnuse is cited by the Guinness as being the woman with the most tattoos in the world, having about 95 percent of her body covered, which includes her face.

With so many tattoos, she has become known across the world as "The Illustrated Lady."

She is of course using the tattoos as a means of covering up the scarring, although they do nothing to keep the skin from continuing to react to the sun.

Tattoo fans will enjoy the latest book from none other than Spider Webb, which has just released "The Big Book of Tattoos," covering a ton of retro tattoos back to the earliest times when they could be photographed, through the 1970s.

Along with the expected navy tattoos, are tattoos covering circus entertainers from that day, and the women who started going against the grain and getting inked far before it was considered acceptable.

Much of the tattoos of that time expressed a lot about life and the deeper feelings had by many then, including their ancestry, religion and love.

The Christian cross gives a ton of opportunities to create and ink some fantastic cross tattoos, and it's no different in the one I included here, which fills the back of this person.

This 3D cross is one of my favorites, and its extraordinary in detail and quality.

It's too bad the photo was taken the way it was, as it takes away some from the effect of the tattoo, which if done right, would have really looked great.

Even so, this 3D cross tattoo looks fantastic as shown, but must really be extreme when you see it in person.

Kat Von D is one of the most well known women sporting tattoos in the world, and she definitely has a lot of them, as her body is inked from top to bottom.

There are so many on her, that it is distracting to me, but she is one of the few women I've seen that can still retain her beauty, without the tattoos completely getting in the way and who she is being lost in the art.

It seems they belong to one another (the tattoos and Kat Von D), and are one with each other. Not too many people give off that vibe, but Von D definitely does.

So even with her extreme and weird tattoos, she is able to maintain her beauty, without being lost as simply a canvass presenting ink, while losing the canvass.

The magic of Kat Von D is she can do both; something not very common among those enamored with ink.

Megan Fox has been everywhere these days, appearing on one magazine cover after another, as she brands herself and promotes the upcoming second installment of Transformers.

But we don't need any excuse to show a photo of this gorgeous starlet, and if we have to use a tattoo for an excuse, so much the better for it.

Megan Fox has several tattoos, and this is a good picture of the one on her back, while posing in stunning fashion.

Having your back filled with tattoos is being seen more and more, and the ladies have definitely taken up the practice.

In this instance, the tattoos seem to not be connected in any way, and are plastered on her back without any meaning.

The color scheme works though, and even with the flowers on top, to the skeleton in the middle, to the fish on the bottom, it at least seems to flow from an artistic standpoint, if not from a theme that is coherent.

I know it's an attempt to be an underwater scene with a skeleton headed octopus, but it doesn't quite work for me.

Overall it's not bad tattoo scene in spite of that.

It's one thing for a celebrity to put the names or other related things to their children as tatoos on their bodies, but for someone else to take the likeness of a celebrity's child and tattoo it on their body, that just seems creepy to me.

Take this one of Maddox Pitt, the adopted child of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

My first thought is, why don't you go adopt your own child and tattoo their likeness on your skin. Or, have children of your own and do it.

This is like vicariously living your live through someone else's in an unhealthy way.

This tattoo of the baby alien character from the movie breaking out of the chest cavity, while gruesome, is fascinating. Talk about an obsession, and walking billboard for the movie and franchise.

It would take a lot of guts to walk around with this, as it would obviously be disapproved by a lot of people, while at the same time attracting those who would think it is really cool.

We'll see more of these types of tattoos celebrating the 'Alien' franchise in future posts.

I don't think this guy will have too much troubled being bothered by any kids following him, as the back of his head is enough to scare off all but the most adventurous.

If you're going to go all the way with this, I think you might as well get something that you really like, which this guy obviously does, as you can see from the entire story the tattoo reveals.

Looking for something unique, but not wanting to simply copy what everyone else considered unique, a couple years ago Britta Oelschlaeger went on a search for something that would suit her.

That journey literally took about 10 years before she stumbled upon a 1896 map of her hometown of Hannover in Germany.

One of the parameters guiding Britta was she wanted it to cover her back.

Saying she loves maps, when she found the old one of Hannover, she jumped at the chance to have it inked on her back.

It tooks about 7 hours just for the outline you see in the photo to be completed, and a lot more for it to be colored in.

Although the boring ones with latitude and longitude, and also the writing, are the least interesting, for Jolie, they're the most important.

The latitude and longitude ones are where she had or adopted her children.

Jolie looks great with tattoos, but like with other beautiful women, you just seem to notice her more than the ink, no matter how good they look.
