STEP HAPPY with Alegria by PG Lite {giveaway}

Last week I was at the dentist with my daughter and I noticed that the hygienist had on the cutest shoes, and then I looked down and saw the tell-tale butterfly on the side. I smiled, knowingly because I recognized her shoes as Alegria by PG Lite. I recognized her shoes because I have a pair, that I've been wearing everywhere I've gone over the last few weeks!


I am bewildered! Why am I just being introduced to Alegria by PG Lite now? And, how did I get along without these shoes for this long? As, I've shared previously I live with a back injury, which causes pain and difficulty walking. Alegria shoes have changed the way I think about footwear, as well as, what it means to be a comfortable shoe.

My daughter and I both received a pair of fun and ultra-comfy shoes from Alegria by PG Lite! I received the Paloma Mary Jane in black metallic, and Emily received the Feliz in Silver Lace.


There was very little break-in time with these Alegria shoes. How does Alegria accomplish this? It all begins with a padded footbed which has latex and memory foam which conforms to your foot. They have breathable leather insoles which have built-in arch supports. Yet, if you need orthotics you can remove the insole easily.



Toes need wiggle room. Alegria shoes have a roomier fit, leaving loads of space for comfy toes. The rocker outsole is made especially so the foot naturally rolls as you walk and in effect corrects your posture and gait. Yet, at the same time the bottom of the shoe is flat, to increase stability.

Emily and I both thought that our shoes were incredibly comfortable and fashionably cute. Alegria shoes are innovative and offer unique styles and many exciting colour combinations. The selections are so varied that there is sure to be something for everyone! The shoes are very well constructed and are the kind of shoe which we will both be wearing for a long time to come.

I love that she is easily able to slip her new shoes on and off, thanks to the velcro across the toe and heel. The velcro is strong and once the shoes are on, she isn't in need of stopping to adjust as she runs, jumps and plays.

It has always been a priority to me to find shoes for my young children from companies which understand how important it is to support little feet. Huh? Really all this sounds pretty impressive, but, I don't really understand all of that! What I do know is that I like this hair dryer!

Quadraion Pro-Dryer is light weight and easy to handle. I love the extra long cord, and can see how a professional would really appreciate the length and ease of movement with it. The dryer itself is very quiet, at least compared to other dryers I've used in the past. Most of all, my hair drys very quickly and without causing an excess of frizz. Having naturally curly hair means I tend not to blow dry my hair unless I have to, most days I just let it air dry. But, sometimes if you have to head out to an appointment or need to be somewhere, I have to dry my hair. And, it always ends up extra fluffy and full. But, when using the Quadraion Pro-Dryer my hair remains soft and very manageable. It did a great job of taming the frizz.

I asked a gal, who works at a local salon to take a look at the Quadraion Pro-Dryer and share her thoughts on it. She was straight to the point and said it was an awesome tool!

I've really enjoyed using this hair dryer, it is a high quality appliance, which I can see is built to be enjoyed for many years. Delta In2ition Two-in-One Shower {giveaway}

I've found bliss in the bathroom with my new Delta In2ition two-in-one shower head. Delta is a name which is very well know to homeowners, Delta is know for their innovative, quality products which will withstand the test of time. The shower head itself is a beautiful piece of hardware, which instantly gave my bathroom a face-lift. I choose to receive my review item in chrome, yet the In2ition shower head is also available in bronze and stainless. It is a luxury which would fit in with any style, in any home.


My hubby loved that it was easy to install our new shower head and that it fit our existing configuration. My favourite aspect of In2ition is the removable hand held shower, it is fantastic for acclimatising our younger children to showers. (they can be scary) Yet, it is awesome for giving our new pup a bath. In the past we've used a hand held shower and it was separate from the wall mounted shower head, the In2ition is genius, in that it saves space and provides bathroom style.

I also love the pause feature for water conservation. We are all more aware that watching water go down the drain is like watching our hard earned pennies wash away. Not to mention, it feels good to know that you are doing your part in conservation.

Now, the good stuff - the wonderful massage feature. (Not that the other points aren't good stuff.) Heaven on earth! Having my back injury, I can enjoy some relief standing in the shower and letting the massaging water wash over me. Or, I can take off the hand held shower and direct it to where I need it the most.

Spring cleaning made easy ~ Original Simple Green All Purpose Cleaner

Looking for an easy cleaning solution which is good for your home and well as the world around us, all the while doing a great job of tackling the hard dirt and grime of a family?


Simple Green has been around for many years, my husband can remember his mother using it around their home when he was a child, so you know it is a tried and true product. Simple Green began long before going green was the trend that it is today. Perfection came with a biodegradable, non-toxic, non-flammable, and non-abrasive formula!

Arriving just as I was starting to think about doing a little spring cleaning, was the Original Simple Green Concentrated All-Purpose Cleaner.

From the minute that Simple Green All Purpose Cleaner arrived at my doorstep, no other cleaners have been used in my home. It is so simple to mix, and it does a great job of cleaning the everyday messes, as well as the tough jobs. I really like the fresh light scent it leaves, but, most of all I love that using Simple Green All Purpose Cleaner is good for my home and family!

Conveniently, right on the side of the dilution bottle I found a helpful guide to help me mix the solution. I rather enjoy mixing up my own cleaning product, it gives me control over how much or how little concentrate I'm using. I've had the Simple Green solution for several weeks, and I can see that it is going to last for a good long time.

My Simple Green All Purpose Cleaner has replaced numerous other products I've used in my home previously. I love it as a washroom disinfectant, as well as a kitchen grease buster. Laundry is abundant in my home, as well are clothing stains - All Purpose Cleaner does a beautiful job of pretreating stains.

Simple Green has a large line of products. Other products which interest me are pet odour/stain remover, and house and siding cleaner. I enjoyed using and mixing the concentrate, but, there are plenty of ready to use products from Simple Green. I am very impressed with the prices of Simple Green products, these are definitely products which offer a fantastic value.

Purchase online, or find a retailer near you. I looked to see where I can buy locally in Ontario, Canada and I see that Home Hardware is listed, I have one close by so I will have to check it out!

Simple Green has changed the way I look at cleaners and cleaning!

TruKid ~ All Natural SkinCare for Kids {giveaway}

My children are dirty kids - dirty, dirty kids! Especially in the summer months, they play hard outside and their grimy little faces reflect that. This summer we are prepared with TruKid body care products to entice them into the bathtub at the end of a day of play.

Sometimes convincing children to come in from outdoor play to bathe is an uphill battle. Making bath time fun is half the battle, I find. At the same time, I am continuously more aware to the importance of incorporating more and more natural products into our home. The bottle is kid-friendly and has a little stick figure on the side of the bottle, so even the kids know which product is for washing their bodies. I really like that TruKid sends a long pump-tops to use if you prefer over press-tops.

Silly Shampoo is my favourite kids shampoo of all time! I don't know if all kids are the same as mine and fight shampoo time, but something tells me that at least some of them are the same. Finding a shampoo that my kids enjoy using is a huge advancement in my home. Again, silly shampoo has a great scent, and a small amount does a good job at getting a nice lather. Just like the body wash, silly shampoo arrived with a pump-top. I love having that alternative!



Here comes the sunshine (finally) and with that warm sunshine comes a long the important need to have a good UVA/UVB sunscreen. TruKid sent me their all natural sunscreen stick to be used on body and face. It is SPF 30 and does a great job of protecting my kids young skin. I love that it comes in a convenient stick, making it non-messy and easy to transport, especially good for dropping into the school backpack, or sending to day camp. I know that the kids can re-apply as needed throughout the day and not end up with a huge mess on their hands. Sunny Days sunscreen glides on easy and has a summery-fresh scent and is water resistant.
