Happy Mother's Day!

I hope that everyone enjoys a wonderful day full of laughter, and love.

It doesn't matter if you are an old mom, a new mom, or a mom to be. Today we celebrate what it means to be a momma, and the special relationships we have with our children.

I hope my faithful readers know how awesome they are, and how much I appreciate them for continuing to visit me here. There was a time when I was caught up in the bigger is better mentality, and really wanted to become a big-time blogger. And, then I realized, why? I like my little blog and the bonds I have formed with people because of it. I like that I can read the comments and not feel pressure to post if I don't feel like it or have the time. I have never received any hate, or negative comments or emails, and for that I am very thankful! I continue to receive fun opportunities, and if I feel like it I will email a company and see if they would be interested in joining me at my blog.

One of my daily haunts is Heartsy to check out the deals. I have purchased many things, which I love, all at great discounts. I guess that I just love handmade items, and getting more bang for my buck is awesome. Especially, with our high Canadian dollar - making the purchase even better! Today, I was browsing and getting to know some new shops and as I was purchasing a deal, I thought to myself - It's Mother's Day, share the love! So I did.

Celebrate Mother's Day with Personal Microderm from SkinCareRx!

Give Yourself a Home Makeover with Personal Microderm!

Thanks to SkinCareRx.com I've had the pleasure of reviewing a Personal Microderm unit. For quite some time my curiosity has been peeked by microdermabrasion , and have even inquired at day spas about the treatment. Spa treatments are expensive, but, I always felt that the benefit would be worth the costs. However, spa visits are not something with I am privy to at this point in my life.

And, then....my review unit arrived and suddenly I was nervous of using it. Why was it nerve-wrecking to me when previously I had been so excited of trying microderm? (I think a lack of understanding how the unit truly worked.) Though I was a titch nervous, I knew I still wanted to use the product. So, I armed myself with knowledge about the product, I read reviews and thought the solution to my nervousness would be to learn from previous users.


Included with the unit was a DVD to watch, in conjunction with printed instructions. Watching the DVD is a must before using Personal Microderm. I also decided to try the unit first on my hands, and knees, thinking they were less sensitive areas as well, if I made a mistake and botched up using the unit it would be less noticeable, than on my face. Using the blue disc (for sensitive skin) I started. When using the Personal Micorderm it is important that you move quickly and don't hesitate in one spot, you can actually see where the device has been, similar to a vacuum on your floor.

After, gaining some confidence I moved along to my face. Make sure your face is clean and dry before you begin. Once you are ready to begin, pull the skin taunt and move quickly over your face, yet, I was careful not to get too close to sensitive skin around the eyes. As I worked, I could see the Personal Microderm was doing exactly as it should - removing dead skin! In it's place I saw new pink skin appearing quickly. I did experience minimal redness for a few minutes, but, nothing which would cause me to discontinue use.

In addition, I received samples of M2 Skin Technologies. Using these specially formulated products are key to achieving the best results with your Personal Microderm. I learned that these products are not to be used directly after using the unit, rather prior to use.

I've only had the unit for two weeks, and had the opportunity to try it twice (once per week). It is recommended to use it once a week for a few months, and then moving to twice a month use for maintenance. I am impressed with the difference it has made in my skin quality already. It makes a big difference in the way make-up looks and feels. I am excited to see the way my skin feels with continued use.


While, I can't compare using Personal Microderm to spa microdermabrasion, I can say that using the unit becomes more comfortable with practice and even with one application I noticed a change in the way may skin felt! I am proud of myself for taking the plunge and stepping out of my comfort zone. I am loving Personal Microderm and would recommend it to anyone. Who couldn't use a little pampering this Mother's Day?

As I approach forty years old, I've come to realize my days of laziness when it comes to skin and hair care must be put behind me. Yes, laziness! I would go to bed without removing make up, let along thinking of moisturizing before hitting the pillow. As I got older, I found that I was using great make up products, but, they weren't really doing for me what they should. And, now I know why! If you don't look after and prep your skin before applying any kind of make up product, it doesn't matter how great it is, it will never perform the way it should.

So, now at close to forty, I am getting serious about skin care....and just like divine intervention Z Mei arrived at my door. At first, seeing the whole system seemed a little daunting to me (remember - lazy). But, then I got down to business, it was now or never time. After, all I had this promising system, why not give it a try and see if it made a difference?

Starting with the easiest to transition, was the Nourishing & Revitalizing Shampoo and Hair Repair & Strengthening Conditioner. Right away I felt a difference in the way my naturally curly hair was feeling, quickly I found it to be softer and more manageable. All thanks to a blend of botanical extracts and herbal nutrients. Since, I use colouring and styling products, I was really happy to learn that the conditioner protects against the harmful chemicals in those things!


Next, to help combat dry Canadian skin, I gave Retoning Hand & Body Moisture Therapy and Intensive Repair Therapy for Hands a go. These two products weren't hard to get to love! Dry, irritated and itchy skin drive me crazy, and right away I was feeling relief when using these products. As soon as I get out of the shower a quick application of the retoning therapy does the trick to keeping my skin hydrated.


I like to use the Exfoliating Scrub in conjunction with the Regenerating Night Treatment just before bed. A couple times each week I use the scrub, but each night before heading to bed the night treatment is a must. The scrub does a great job of removing toxins and leaves my face smooth. Then as I sleep, the night treatment does its job!


Before applying makeup I use a cotton pad to wipe down my face with the Purifying Facial Cleanser, which does not dry. My face is left clean and ready for the Balancing Toner, which locks in moisture. I have always said the a good moisturizer is a must - and the Replenishing Daily Moisturizer does a great job of hydrating, it even contains sunscreen! And, the final product I must mention is the Correcting Eye Cream. I dab with my little finger under my eye, leaves that delicate skin smooth.

Phew! I can't believe I was able to stick with the regime of using the Z Mei products! I really think my secret is once I started to use them, I would miss them if I skipped a day or a product. Separately, each product delivers what it promises, but, used as a system they are fabulous!

Having had the opportunity to try out other reusable bags previously, I have to admit that Planet Wise really are my favourite.

Why do I like these bags so much?
