On Tuesday 4-22-08, we took a run to
Kitt Peak National Observatory, home of the world's largest collection of optical telescopes. This collection sits atop of a mountain at an elevation of 7000 ft. For more info on
Kitt Peak, click on the following link:
http://www.noao.edu/kpno/ The photo above is the sign at the entrance to
Kitt Peak, which is 12 miles from this sign. REMEMBER: if ya want to see it larger, click on the pic..

That is
Kitt Peak way back behind Bill's Harley.

Prior to heading up, Bill had to water some desert plant life.

There is

A view on the way up

a view just as we left the sign and started the ride up..

Bill took this pic of me looking at the Peak from about the 3000 ft level.

That's as close as I am getting. Bill, on the other hand, is half mountain goat and absolutely fearless..In '76 at the Grand Canyon, he jumped to one of those overhangs to get his pic taken..If he had miscalculated his jump, he would of splattered on the rocks a thousand feet below...

Me
fixin' to continue up

me at a pull out

Me at a not too high point of ground...

A view of
Kitt Peak as we closed in on it

This is out of sequence but it was an infrared camera they had set up at the visitor center at the summit. So, I took a pic of me & Bill..
