Sprungli Luxemburgerli

The name derived from luxury, burger yang geli dimakan. And it's also been invented in Luxembourg, so that's why the name is luxemburgerli. Haha, kidding!! I mean first part tu yang kidding. Second part is true. I was so ecstatic to see the Sprungli in Zurich when our tram stops exactly in front of the confectionery in Paradeplatz.

Sprungli confectionery is very popular in Zurich, it's like Laduree in Paris. Luxemburgerli is actually like a small macaron. But for me it tastes nicer because of the variety of the flavours and center cream filling. Also it is selling by grams according to the size of boxes.

So here are the comparisons between Luxemburgerli and macaron from Laduree

I bought 2 boxes of luxemburgerli and thinking to bring some to Geneva. But sadly, I left it on the table in the hotel in Zurich. I was sooooooooo sad and didn't enjoy the scenery inside the train from Zurich to Geneva just thinking about it. But bila dah takde rezeki, nak buat macam mana kan? =(

It's actually a well-known Italian cafe in Melbourne.

And they have opened their branch in Dubai Mall. 

I love seeing their cakes, dessert and handmade chocolates.

They all nice with extraordinary presentation,
Also look delicious!

First Attempt

I don't have her talent, but people said practice make perfect. If we didn't try to cook till when it will be perfect, right? Anyway, this all what I've tried for the first time and hopefully after this I will have the 'moo' to make it again and again until it will be perfect.

Macarons Madness!!!

I luuuuuuuuurve macarons especially laduree. (It does not mean bila I love to eat macarons mata I bertukar jadi biru k =P) No matter what other people said how sweet it is, but the macarons by laduree are up to my likings. 

But since the macarons by laduree are quite expensive (over here seketul dalam RM11), I have to find other cheaper alternative. Bila I makan, the kids tengok mesti mintak. And cara budak2 ni makan bukannya indulge, kunyah selo selo macam kita, mereka terus telan! Then the serbuk yg terjatuh pun tak heran, asal dapat makan. hahahaha...Then sekali makan, satu mana cukup, at least mesti nak 2 biji. 2 biji x 2 budak + 2 biji mak budak punya = total satu family meals makan lunch/ dinner! Then dulu, hubby memang tak berapa gemar macarons. But then a few weeks ago I always found some of my macarons inside the fridge were missing. WTH! Who else yang curi kan? LOL

Then, everywhere I go, if I found Patisserie shop selling macarons, I must buy to try. Eventhough the price is about RM6 sebijik, still cheaper than Laduree. But I buy in a few pieces dulu...try how the taste like. If sedap then boleh beli byk.

I found this shop in Qaryat Al Beri selling macarons. Not bad jugak rasa dia, but for me, dia macam terlebih crunchy compared to Laduree. But hubby like it very much!

Then I tried Fauchon Paris Macarons. They don't have much variety, only about 6 flavours. Agak disappointed disitu. But their Pictachio, Vanilla and Raspberry macarons are very nice. Bolehla nak challenge Laduree. I wish they have Rose, Hazelnut, Orange Blossom, Choc and Coconut flavours like Laduree. =(

Then lastly, we found a local Patisserie shop in Dubai Mall called Vivel. We bought and tried 7 pieces macarons.

Disebabkan sedap dan menarik dari Fauchon and cheaper than Laduree, hubby finally bought banyak ni and do you know how long does it last?

Thank God now we are on Atkins again so for this timebeing we need to avoid the macarons madness!

The Best Ping Pong I've Ever Tasted

The name is Ping Pong. Actually it's a restaurant. And this restaurant serves Dim Sum in Dubai Mall. Kat sini tak ramai chinese, so to get dim sum yg sedap sangatlah susah. But I guess dekat Ping Pong they can afford to hire some International Chefs to serve the best Dim Sum in town.

We love the pau. I can't remember how many we've ordered but Izz really love the pau

Ada mcm2 jenis sos, and the chili is so hot memang really kick!

Yes, next time we are going to eat in Ping Pong again. =)

Red Velvet Overload!

Sorry for being silence for a while. Last few days I tried not to spend too much time sitting in front of lappy because I want to give more attentions to the kids.

I am hoping by next week I'll be active again with Euphoria Junction, so that it will still be alive and kicking. In the meanwhile, I am back on track with my Atkins plan. Wohooo can't wait to be healthy again!

This was during last few weeks, I tried to bake the Red Velvet cuppies. It's so yummy but I used too few frosting ( buat sikit sgt nak kena distribute to all cuppies ) hubby called the cuppies as Halloween cuppies and it looks scary n creepy to eat. Do u think it's too RED?




Since hubby was afraid to eat, mostly all the cuppies telah selamat ditelan by this kid. Can u see his teeth? Looks like makan sireh pulak




Then we went to Dubai last week and I went to Magnolia Bakery in Bloomingdales and tried their well known red velvet cuppies. Yummehhhhh!!! The red velvet cheesecake pun sedap and now I can't stop imagining the taste of the soft velvety cake and the thick creamy cream cheese.. YUM YUM *meleleh*

Mr Loba Loba

Actually I am referring to Pavlova. When I was in Malaysia that day, I've been introduced to Mr Loba Loba by my girlfriends. It was like an instant love struck to my tastebuds! The same love I felt to Mr Duree Duree the macaroons. ( eventhough saya tidak berambut blonde, harini bagi saya perasan jadi mek salleh makan dessert omputih occay? =P)

So that day when my stocks of Mr Duree2 habis, saya kemaruk tak tentu hala nak Mr Loba2 ni. I know some people x suka mcm my other half ckp rasa mcm mkn omellete letak cream n strawberry je hahaha But I feel like a junkie takleh jadi nak kena buat jugak Pavlova ni. So I made it.

Eventhough my meringue tak berapa nak jadi, should be ok kot untuk melepaskan kempunan. Or anyone care to share recepi pavlova yg sebijik mcm Alexis punya?

Teknik Menjala

Bila tengok gambar ni from Julie's blog...

Made me teringin nak makan kari ayam dengan roti jala...

But bila dah stay with atkins,

I tak boleh masak dgn flour, sebab byk carbs...

However, yesterday I found this....YIPPIE!!! 

 Now I can make roti jala...

But bila buat Roti Jala semalam,

Dia tak jadi secantik ni...huhuhuhu

Serious, malu nak tunjuk! 

Sampai hubby tanya, ni omellete ke? hehehehe
