Your thinking seems to contradict yourself back and forth.
Are you really saying that because Japan had limited natural resources it was justified in seizing Korea, invading Manchuria, invading China, attacking the Soviets, invading Indonesia, and attacking any country that decided not to resupply Japan's war machine?

"Aliens vs Predator Requiem" was edited on Final Cut. But that movie was terrible. Maybe it was Final Cut�s fault. ;)
But in all seriousness: I think a new Final Cut version is clearly overdue. FCS3 was more like a feature-patch for FCS2 than a new version. These days not having any kind of native AVCHD support really slows you down (and uses up a lot of storage space) particularly considering the DSLR-hype since 2009!
I remember a friend of mine who had bought a Panasonic HMC 150 (which is a professional camera) before FCS3 was released and was expecting native AVCHD in the next release. He has been waiting for this feature for almost two years now, while all the other big editing systems have had it for a while, as far as I know!
I'm into the casual AVCHD use like most consumers, and while my opinion doesn't count the same as most of the heavy editors commenting, Steve Jobs does tend to have a liking for "the river coming to us" as the best use of resources.
In that regard, and with Intel popping Sandy Bridge on the CES stage in January, AVC will get some much needed silicon on chip for encode/decode; the only codec to get that treatment. I doubt that this is anything but conincidence, as OpenCL / Grand Central are much more necessary for FCP's overhaul, but it strikes me that any Sandy Bridge processor in any Mac will by definition ease the AVCHD issues in all of Apple's video applications. Since AVCHD is in the core, one can imagine imagine that future Xeon processors should be quite suitable for AVCHD editing (it's my understanding that the AVCHD standard supports division of the frame into 4 chunks for multithreading).
I hope that this thread is still alive when FCP arrives and that further, there are commenters with with hands on use of the Panasonic AG-AF100 and Sony NEX video cameras supporting AVCHD and dslr lenses.

For people who own the iPhone 4 and are happy with iPhone 5 being pushed back (so your phone still feel 'new'), this delay only means the iPhone 6 (the one that most of the iPhone 4 owners will be upgrading to) will also be pushed back when it comes to 2012. If Apple is going to release the iPhone 5 in September or later, the iPhone 6 will be out September 2012 at the earliest.
So basically, the whole timeline for bi-annual upgrade got screwed… (well, only for early buyers anyway.)

There seems to be a lot of confusion between morality and reality in this thread. Let me give a real life experience as example and comparison.
This past week my children's DVD players were stolen from our vehicle. You know, the kind that attach to the back of the head rest in the automobile. We bought them for long trips, but recently my wife put them in for an extended day of driving with the kids. We had a conversation in which I told her, "honey, we need to take those out of the car now because they can clearly be seen through the windows and that could be all the 'invitation' needed for someone to take them". Guess what happened a few days later, they were stolen.
It disgusts, angers, and frustrates me that someone would steal from my children. I feel violated that someone feels it is okay for them to take something that they have no right to.

The first Avid came out in 1989 on a Mac IIx. Most people up until a couple of years ago where still editing with Avid Xpress/Film Composer on Power Macintosh 9600's and G3/G4 machines because they cut and cut really well. You used to not be able to separate the word Apple from Avid until they started being bad about working with other developers over the span of OS X. I.E. Avid, Adobe & Macromedia. And developing competing products. You've seen what Steve can do with a product like flash and ban it from an OS. So Adobe and Avid started not putting all their eggs in one basket and that's why you started seeing alot of software on apple's migrate to PC's because of Apple's behavior for better or worse.
IMO the story goes slightly different. Apple was circling the drain, Mac-centric developers went "Oh, *****!" and developed Windows versions of their Apps. Steve went "Oh, *****" and started developing first party apps as a matter of necessity. It's not a coincidence that a rash of first party apps started appearing around the same time (99/00). iMovie, iTunes, iDVD and iPhoto all hit the streets around the same time and they were all free. FCP landed during the same time and while it was not free it was ridiculously cheaper than Avid's offerings.
Avid also flirted w/the idea of dropping the Mac entirely when the G4 started to stagnate (thanks Motorola), but Mac faithful editors dang near busted out the torches and pitch forks so Avid quickly backed peddled. The PC version of Avid did start to take priority though and it was only a couple of years ago that platform parity returned to Avid's products.

at first glance it seems stupid to come out with a white iPhone 4 this late in the game. But I assume when the iPhone 5 comes out, the iPhone 4 will still be sold at a discounted rate like the iPhone 3GS on AT&T. So coming out with a new color for a phone that will be selling for the next year or two is not too late.

If you don't have it now - don't bother getting it. There are free services that do everything that .Mac does. However, since I am so dependent on the email address - I'm stuck paying the $99 a year.
You can get it for $79, sometimes lower, on Amazon.com. Don't fall for the all-too-easy "automatic renewal" check box. I've wasted at least one hundred bucks over the years through that thing.

That's been their entire motivation all along. If they decide it's something they want to do, there's no reason not to support it.
I would be highly suspicious that they want to create their own maps to do it better than Google Maps. The riff between the two companies is more likely the reason. If they do their own version, it better be amazing or it will just make Apple look bad.
