I think Sergey Brin, one of the founders of google immigrated to US as a kid, i.e. not on EB quota or H1/L1.
I am looking for those who are either -
- currently on or were once on H1/L1/AOS pending.
- immigrated to the US using Employment Based immigration.

I need expert advice -
My I-140 has been approved and I-485 pending for more than 18 months. I have a valid EAD & AP. I also have a valid H1-B visa valid till 2011,
that I am using for my current employment with my current employer
1. If I get laid-off, how long can I stay in US without another job?
2. I understand that in order to maintain my eligibility to "port" to a new employer / sponsor under AC21, I should have another job in same or similar occupation. Till I find another job, am I allowed to do some part-time job in different occupation?
3. If new employer gives me the option to move permanently to its subsidiary in another country, what are the available option for me to continue with green card processing?
4. If after going out of the country , I want to come back in future before Green card approval, what will be the available options?

There is no limit on the amount of money that a person can bring in. However if a person is carrying $10 k (this includes cash, travellers check, bank draft etc) or >5k in cash then that has to be declared at customs and person should go through Red Channel.
Are there any fees that has to be paid when the amount is declared? And is this for visitors only?

I agree, a good "cheat" is a spray bottle of water on your belt...... makes them look way better in all sorts of conditions.

Why is there a huge discrepancy between TSC and NSC wrt I140
Also the processing times NSC publsihes are not right.
for eg: My EB2 is pending from Dec 2006 and the latest update is Feb 2007.

My H1 is approved on Oct 23, 2006. I was on F1. Before my OPT grace period expired on July 20, 2006, I enrolled in a school with new I-20 on July 5th, 2006. I have been taking one class every month for last three months to maintain full time status. If I stop taking classes now, would it be a some kind of problem when I go for visa stamping?
if possible try to complete the course or take CPT ...As of now you are in legal status only but if you dont complete your course..you may have some tough questions to answer when you go for visa stamping.. also try to search in murthy..you will have lot more information.
