Tom Tancredo is a very narrow minded individual with myopic vision, he seems to be in a state of denial. I think he wouldn't be able to further deteriorate the already messed up situation.

I don't think you will get in trouble with IRS. Because your W2 will have less salary stated. However for H1-B purpose, you salary will drop from what was probably stated on your H1-B application. No one is going to notice this. But just don't do this, when your H1-B stamping or renewal is near, so that you will have full salary mentioned in your recent paystubs.

I have the similar situation, worrying about not getting receipt before expiration date. I called USCIS, the lady told me that as long as I filed before the expiration day, I'm okay to work. If someone else could call USCIS, get different people answer this question, and confirm this, that will be helpful.

yes, i have unexpired visa. I was wondering if I need visitor visa to go to Mexico and have a new I-94 at port of entry.
Do you need Mexican visa? Depends on the passport you hold, I believe nationals of some countries dont need the visa. There is one online blog by an Indian who went without the visa (to a bordering city), even though India does not have visa exemption -- he says that the visa is not strictly enforced.
The blog also states that you can ask for I94 at the port of entry. Please google for the blog.

Applied at tsc on 2aug card prodn. ordered on 23rd oct. But I have received 3 lud's after that on 485 and 2 on 765, my 140 is still pending at TSC applied on 29 of july.

Amsterdam- you don't need transit visa, same with brussels or Frankfurt

Immigration to Canada is the most obvious option in case you want to stay within North America. Being Canadian permanent resident / citizen allows you to run business in the States under certain rules.
Another option is Australia but it is a bit far away and in fact the country is not very much populated - less than 20 mln people. I.e. business is not booming.
Dubai is an excellent option for making money, or at least that was the case 10-15 years ago. Its economy is still booming.

when did you file your 485? I really woudnt balme you for calling multiple times..but if its been 60 days since the current processesing dates(check the processing date of the service center you filed your case at) then there is absolutely no harm calling them to check the status.
Finally, I am current now, I spoke to IO today again ( Again means I call them every month, every week atleast once & So far I got Nice IO's)

Regarding your 1st issue...My lawyer advised me to attach the scan copy with 485, but definately have the originals in hand in case there is a RFE.
I don't want to take a chance, so Iam asking my parents to send it through 2nd day fedex as well. It will cost me maybe another Rs 2-3000, but what the hell..

I am trying to port from EB3-EB2 from the same employer.
Prior to joining the employer, I had MS+2 years of experience. However, the lawyer applied in EB3. The job description read:
Required: BS+3
MS+1 also accepted
Experience in technologies A,B,C,D
I applied based on my MS+1 experience. Now the same company has another position with a very similar job description with a different title.
Required:MS+1
Experience in technologies A,B,C,D
Q1. Would this qualify for a EB2 position? Do I have to worry about the job descriptions being almost similar
Q2. The titles are different. But the EB2 position doesn't have "Senior" in the position title. Is there a need to worry?
Any replies are really appreciated.
Title alone will not make you to qualify for EB2. You need to worry about porting with the same employer as it might invite audit (most likely) and there are other consequences also to worry about.
Check with your HR - What category they are filing for the new job EB2/EB3
If EB2 ask them - Why did they file EB3 for you for the same position.
If EB3 - There is no point in porting.

You can claim all the standard tax deductions/exemptions that are available to any US citizen like EIC (irrespective of your status - on visa, in AOS, PR or citizen) if you file taxes as a resident.

That year he was laid off and had very little income So he took the money.
