baby mason in action....

“A baby will make love stronger, days shorter, nights longer, bank balance smaller, home happier, clothes dirty, the past forgotten, and the future worth living for.”

Loving a baby is a circular business, a kind of feedback loop. The more you give the more you get and the more you get, the more you feel like giving.
- Penelope Leach

A babe in the house is a well-spring of pleasure,
a messenger of peace and love,
a resting place for innocence on earth,
a link between angels and men.
- Martin Fraquhar Tupper

"Boys Before Flowers: F4 Special Edition (Parts 1 & 2),"

The much-touted “F4 Special Edition” music drama, which follows up with the F4 boys five years after the end of the drama, was finally released online on April 28 — but only the first half (or two “episodes”). The second half comes out next week.

Each F4 member gets his own “episode,” and first two feature Kim Bum’s Yi-jung character and Kim Joon’s Woo-bin.

The music drama features a total of nine songs, some of which were sung by the actors themselves, like Kim Hyun-joong’s “Thing Called Happiness” (행복이란), Kim Bum’s “I’m Going to Meet You Now” (지금 만나러 갑니다), and Kim Joon’s “To Make Empty” (비워내기).

Yi-jung’s segment (above) opens with narration by Woo-bin, and the song featured throughout is Kim Bum’s song — I’m actually quite impressed with the vocals. I’m less impressed with how so much of the footage is old clips from the series.

 Episode 1

The intro:

Woo-bin: “Are there things that don’t change even after time has passed? How many springs have come to our school full of memories? And our special classroom — it’s here that we began our friendships and loves. Gu Jun-pyo, Yoon Ji-hoo, So Yi-jung, Song Woo-bin, F4.”

The voice at the end asks: “Sunbae. I’m a little late, aren’t I?”
Yi-jung asks, “Will you be my flower forever?”

Episode 2 (Woo-bin):

woo bin's episode
In this segment, Woo-bin starts by asking, “What’s your reason?” The girl tells him, “I’m tired of your consideration.” (It insinuates that she feels suffocated by his constant attention, like he’s hovering.)

The song here features lyrics written by Kim Joon and rapper Rhymer. The title “To Make Empty” refers to emptying oneself of the pain following a failed love.

Lee Min Ho & Kim Hyun Joong Each Snag Award in The 45th Annual Baeksang Awards

2009’s most talked about, ‘Boys Before Flowers’ sizzled at the Baeksang Awards.

‘Boys before Flowers’ Lee Min Ho received the Best Newcomer Award at the 45th Annual Baeksang Awards held in Seoul on the 27th.

Lee Min Ho said tonight “This is my first award ceremony and I’m ashamed for tripping on the red carpet. Thank you very much to all of the ‘Boys Before Flowers’ filming and producing staff. I’ll try and work even harder in the future.”

‘Boys Before Flowers’ Kim Hyun Joong was awarded the Popularity Award.

Kim Hyun Joong said, “I was able to work on a really good production,” and “I’m undeserving of this award. I will work even harder.”

There was an amazing amount of activity outside the awards. Prior to the award ceremony, the fans were a sight to behold when they poured in to see Girl’s Generation and ‘Boys Before Flowers’ members on the red carpet and during the congratulatory performances of SS501’s ‘Because I’m Stupid’ and Girl’s Generation ‘Gee.’

Lee Min Ho ... ( Boys over Flowers )

The latest heartthrob for Korean women is the young actor Lee Min-ho, the hero of the new hit KBS 2TV drama (airing Mon-Tues) "Boys over Flowers." His casting as the hero of this drama series, extremely popular across Asia, created a buzz from the start. Any handsome actor would covet the role of one of the members of the "F4," a group of rich and popular boys at a school where the story takes place.

The Korean cast for F4 was finally revealed and the casting of a complete novice actor, Lee (22), for the role of F4 leader "Gu Jun-pyo" was almost shocking.

The "F4 craze" has hit Korea since the drama series was also made in Taiwan and Japan, and Lee is at the center of it all. But he had his share of trials thus far. He debuted in the 2006 EBS drama "The Secret Campus" but had to take a year off after a car accident. After his rehabilitation, he landed his first lead role in the SBS high teen drama "Mackerel Run!" but the series ran short.

Lee said, "If I didn't have the accident and continued acting I might not have been able to meet 'Jun-pyo.' I shiver at this thought. What I suffered led me to this breakthrough role. I worried about the role because I'm unknown to the public, but of course I was thrilled to be cast."

Jun-pyo is the heir to Korea's number one conglomerate group and a typical spoiled and arrogant character. He is hot-tempered and rough, but also has childlike innocence. A polar opposite of his friend Ji-hu (played by Kim Hyeon-jung), Jun-pyo has his heart firmly set on Geum Jan-di (Gu Hye-seon), the daughter of a working class family who runs a dry cleaning store.

Women viewers empathize with the rich F4 boys doting on Jan-di. They also get to love Jun-pyo as more of his sides are shown and say he is attractive in many ways. Women want to take care of him and be embraced by him at the same time.

He is a high school student in the drama, but Lee is actually on leave from Konkuk Univ. where he majors in cinema/art. What is Lee really like? He said, "I think I'm somewhere between Jun-pyo and Jan-di. I have both sides of them. This cute handsome guy role is unfamiliar though. I can totally carry a pathetic role as well (laugh). But for now, I hope to be Jun-pyo and him alone."
