Argentinian polo player, Nacho Figueras was born in Buenos Aires in 1977. You might recognize him from his ubiquitous Ralph Lauren Polo ads which are plastered everywhere- magazines, billboards and commercials. Recently, he’s also been featured in the season premiere of Gossip Girl where he escorted our favorite poor little rich girl, Serena to her horsey.
POLO CAREER
Known around the world as the “David Beckham of polo”, the 32-year-old athlete’s mission in life is to bring polo to the masses and raise its profile. Recently, he organized the Veuve Clicquot Manhattan Polo Classic exhibition at Governor’s Island in New York. His Royal Highness Prince Harry even came by to play a match. Growing up in a middle class family, Figueras began playing polo at the age of 8 and turned pro at 17. He currently plays for Black Watch, a team he co-owns and is a captain of.
MODELING CAREER
An introduction to Ralph Lauren by famed photographer, Bruce Weber at a dinner party led to him becoming the face of Ralph Lauren. So what do you think? Is he crush worthy? Apparently, the readers of Vanity Fair think so. In June of 2009, he was voted the second most handsome man in the world by the readers of the magazine, just behind Robert Pattinson and just ahead of Brad Pitt.
